Introduction: John 6 & 7 review

Hearing God's voice.  The whole heart and soul of the Christian experience is being brought to the surface in this difficult scene.  It is the ability of the individual to hear whispers, the words, the speech of the Holy Spirit of God who alone can administer, release and declare the words of the Father into the life of the believer.

  • Where does confusion come from?  The devil - listening to the devil rather than God.

2 Corinthians 10:3,5; Matthew 13:19; John 6:56; John 6:60

  • Do you know what Jesus asked?  He asked 'what would you think of me if you saw me in the realm from which I come?'
  • The only explanation Jesus gives to His disciples:

John 6:63-64: John 6:67

Religion brings condemnation which locks people into sin.

Vs.

Conviction is pulling them out and says, look what you did, if you don't recognize you won't get free from it.  It is not to shame and mock but to give the motivation to get out.  Conviction always gives a way out and gives a way to get into life.

How do you know when it is God's voice?  God's voice always gives life.

John 7:17

Two sides of a coin here:

a.  God's voice gives life and:

b.  If you're willing to obey you will know whether the teaching is from God or from      man.

What is He saying?  It is waking up every morning and saying "Yes" to God.

Isaiah 55:2

Listen to my voice, why?  Isaiah 55:3.  Listening to God's voice positions us to have abundant life, which is experienced in our soul (not just our mind).

Matthew 4:4
